WITHOUT Unnecessary Risk, Losing Streaks,
or Even Knowing The Players You Bet On!
The majority of people involved with trading tend to just stick to trading on horses, football but the most interesting thing is that Tennis has actually been neglected by the traders for a while now . However, having followed the first tennis match and the corresponding odds fluctuations on Betfair Patrick Ross got it straight away – there’s a huge potential in there.
To give you a detailed overview of WHAT Betfair tennis trading strategies are all about and WHY they work read on. Most importantly - why they will work for anyone who has the sense to see what this kind of Betfair trading could mean to their Betfair income!
1) Backing The Favourite
Player One Set Down
This is my favourite method and it’s very simple, easy and effective.
It’s based on my observations that the favourite players having lost a set very often perform much better at the beginning of the next set.
On around of 75% you’ll make pure profit as it really happens as I just said - when a strong tennis player loses a set, there’s a pretty good chance that he’s going to gather up himself in the second one.
But don’t get me wrong - I never take chances when trading tennis on Betfair. Instead I rely on statistics proven in real-life trading.
To succesfuly implement this technique you have to know the following things - the acceptable odds range at which you can back the favourite, the acceptable loss per trade and the needed profit you have to make per trade to have a positive long-term balance.
Other factors like - which matches qualify for this Betfair trading strategy, which points trigger the needed odds drop and a number of others are also very important.
2) Backing OR Laying
Players Right As They Score
This is the tennis trading strategy that requires the most technical precision AND following the match on TV as well.
The basic principle is very simple.
When a player scores - his odds drop. If you can back him right as he scores, you can lay him off a few moments later when the odds have changed.
What you say about this? Does is sound too good to be true? Well, it is good!
The massive advantage of this approach is the very low risk level. When a player scores and you try to back him (or her), you just have two options as to what’s going to happen next.
The first option - your bet gets matched, and you can wait on the odds drop and then lay the player off for profit.
The second option - your bet doesn’t get matched, and you haven’t lost anything.
As you can see - the risk here is virtually non-existent and you’re really on the safe side.
3) Trading On A Few Points In A Row
This is a beautiful strategy and produces brilliant Betfair tennis trading income.
To put it simply - you have to back the favourite player right as he scores. But instead of laying him off after the odds drop you have to wait on him to score another point. And then another.
Ideally you’ll await on him to score the game point, the odds will drop by a great margin and you’ll be able to lay him off with a very healthy profit.
Can you see here any similarities to financial trading? Yes - the guys trading stocks implement the same strategies when they wait on the price to move in or out. But instead of making the profit after a certain price move, they apply the stop loss and wait for the price to move even more.
In tennis trading it’s very similar. The natural stop-loss point is the fact that the odds just can’t drop below the initial back level - even if the under-dog scores the next point.
You’ve backed the favourite at certain odds, and at worst you’ll be able to get out of the trade with a very small loss.
This approach is very good at moments when you can’t really apply the scalping methods as described in the previous strategy due to the time-lag. But for waiting for the favourite to score a few points in a row you don’t need a very timely broadcast.
The main indicator here is a very good performing favourite player. Let’s say, he scores the previous game point. Now he scores a point in the next game.
It’s a good indicator that he’ll probably score more points and eventually the next game point as well. So you can back him, monitor the market and act accordingly to what happens on court.
4) Laying The Favourite
Before The Match
If you know the right odds range where you can use this strategy - you’ll be able to make a healthy Betfair trading profit by using it.
You have to lay the favourite player off right before the match.
As the match goes on, you have two options, of course. If the favourite player scores a few game points, his odds will shorten and you have to exit the trade with a loss.
If the under-dog takes the lead, the favourite’s odds will drift out. When they reach the necessary margin, you can lay the favourite off locking in very good profit.
What’s the catch in this approach - you may say? There’s no catch at all!
This strategy is based on a very simple thing - the favourite’s odds drift out by far greater than they actually should.
I observed it for a good while and it appears to happen exactly like I just said - if the favourite leads the match, his odds drop will force you exit with a tiny loss. But if the under-dog performs better - the favourite’s odds will drift out by a great margin enabling you to green out.
The overall long-term losses will be offset by the profitable trades - and this is why I love this strategy. You lose a few euro here and there, but when you hit the winning trade - whoops! - fifty euro. Sixty euro. That’s the way to go!
Those were a few of my most effective Betfair tennis trading strategies for generating loads of tax free earnings with almost no risk at all - in a long-term these trading methods give an overall positive balance thanks to the exit strategies and odds filters I use.
